Final Draft Priority Growth Area (PGA) Rezoning Now Available
Many of our community members took the time to provide feedback in November 2024 on the City-driven rezonings proposed for Garneau. The City has now shared a final rezoning proposal for University-Garneau. The proposal and associated map, as well as a What We Heard Report summarizing feedback and how it was used to inform the final proposals, are now available at edmonton.ca/PriorityGrowthAreaRezoning. Over the month of April, landowners, Edmontonians and businesses in the areas selected for rezoning will be notified through a variety of channels, including postcard mailers, lawn signs, and social media, to ensure they are aware of the final draft proposal.
What is the Garneau Community League doing about PGA?
The proposed rezonings will be brought to a City Council Public Hearing for a decision on May 20, 2025. The league planning committee is currently working on a position statement, as well as a number of tools to engage with our community and ensure everyone’s voices are heard on this important topic.
Please attend our Special General Meeting on Wednesday, April 30, if you’d like to learn more and discuss the Priority Growth Areas Rezoning in person. And keep an eye on our website and social media for opportunities to engage and make your voice heard as a resident of Garneau.
