Community League Bike Month Challenge

The premise of the Community League Bike Month Challenge is simple: whichever League’s members ride the farthest wins. In 2023, more than 24 Leagues saw their members pedal their rides more than 135,000 kilometres. Leagues across the city have adopted the challenge as a fun way to compete with other Leagues and promote active transportation and recreation in their neighbourhoods.

This year, for the first time ever, The Garneau is joining the race!

Whether you're a kid riding around the block, a weekend road bike racer, a mountain biker ripping through the river valley, a daily commuter, or you just really love riding your bike for fun or exercise, we invite you to join the challenge and log some distance!

How to participate

More information

Download the Strava app (or sign up on the Strava website) and join The Garneau Gran Fondo club.

Even if you don’t automatically track your mileage using a mobile device, you can manually input it into Strava using the plus (+) sign. In the app you’ll find this on the Feed screen. On a computer, sign in to the Strava website and select Training and then My Activities and the plus symbol [+] will be in the top right corner by your profile picture. After clicking the plus (+) choose Add Manual Entry to log your mileage manually.

Riding with your kids? Their mileage counts too! You can add it in Strava using the method mentioned above, or report it via email to communications@thegarneaucommunityleague.com.

You can read more about the challenge on EFCL’s website.
